NO NAME BIRTHDAY BANDWhen: Saturday, November 30th Where: WHICH CRAFT - 91 Wyndham St N, Guelph Info: NO NAME BIRTHDAY BAND NO NAME BIRTHDAY BAND Music starts at 9pm
No name birthday band is a collection of Guelph musicians playing dark country grooves mixed with a spattering of folk rock and 60’s psych. The harmonies and laidback instrumentation would have these fellas comfortably fitting in the Laurel Canyon scene of the late 60’s and early 70’s. Pete Spring and Brad Giefert hold down vocals and guitar, Michael Overton on bass, and Darryl Stevenson on drums and backing vocals. Coocoo was born and raised in the vibrant art and music community of Guelph Ontario. His original songs come to life through honest melodies and a stripped back sound. coocoo (Coulter von Maydell) was born into the folk driven Funky Mama family and hasn’t been able to stop making sounds since. His songs carry a sentimental hopefulness that drags their listeners into the depths of his yet unexplored mind. The glue that holds coocoo together is the fearless rhythm section of Monika Jureczek (Bass Guitar) and Nicholas Sorg (Drum Kit) whose friendship and chemistry are yet to be matched.
